Attracted by the natural beauty of Punta Cana, its beaches, its majestic hotels and the overflowing smiles of its people, 68.8% of visitors to the Dominican Republic arrived through the airport terminal of this tourist city in the first half of this year.
As of last July, this country received 6,968,623 visitors, with a projection of more than 11 million for 2024.
According to a survey conducted by the Ministry of Tourism on more than 248,973 tourists, Punta Cana leads the first place among the most visited destinations in the Dominican Republic, with 40%, followed by Santo Domingo (19%), Puerta Plata (13%), La Romana (11%), Samaná (8%), Santiago (7%) and Barahona (2%).
